We encourage families to attend school council meetings as it allows parents/guardians to contribute their knowledge, perspective and ideas. School councils are a bridge between the school and community, working together to support and enhance learning. A healthy school council requires the active participation of many voices.
Our next Council meeting from 6:15 – 8:00pm. You can attend in person or online. During this meeting, we will be discussing three important topics:
- Diagnostic Assessments from k-6 – Learn about the various of diagnostic assessments that are done in September to support learning for each of our students.
- System Student Accommodation Plan (SSAP) – Learn how the CBE makes decisions regarding schools that face accommodation challenges, such as high enrollment pressures, a decline in enrollment, or a change in the demographics of students at the school. Ron Southern has been identified in the CBE’s 2024-27 SSAP plan due to high enrollment.
- Social Emotional Learning Block – Learn about how we are supporting students in understanding their feelings and how these feelings impact their actions
We look forward to seeing you at the School Council meeting. Together, we can work towards creating a positive and thriving learning environment at Ron Southern.
