For the past few weeks, we have been working on classroom organization. Without knowing our exact numbers and who all our students are for the 2023-24 school year, this work is our best predication at what would facilitate the most advantageous learning environment for our students. Through this process we asked ourselves:
- How can we leverage the various strengths of teachers as we re-organize our grades?
- How can we structure straight and combined grades to support learning and heterogeneous/well-balanced classrooms?
- How can we keep class size low in our early grades?
Through the conversations we had with teachers, school council and the leadership team we arrived at the following tentative classroom organization:
- Two EES classes
- Two AM and one PM kindergarten classes
- Four grade 1 classes
- Four grade 2 classes
- Three grade 3 classes
- Three grade 4 classes
- Five grade 5/6 classes
- Half-Time PE specialist
- Full-Time Music specialist
June is also a time where there is often movement of teacher as they may take opportunities to explore new schools, grades or career opportunities. We will communicate any staff changes by the end of the school year.
A reminder that Thursday, June 27 is the last day of school. It is a half day of school, with students being dismissed at 12:05pm
