Dear Parents/Guardians,   

On Friday, our teachers will participate in professional development focused on Mathematics and Social Emotional Learning (SEL). 

• In Mathematics, we will explore ways to make math more equitable for all students. Teachers will focus on important skills like helping students represent ideas in different ways, encouraging them to ask thoughtful questions and connecting current problems to ones they've solved before. 
• In Social Emotional Learning (SEL), we will work on strategies to support students in developing key skills in Self-Awareness and Self-Management. These skills help students understand their feelings and manage their emotions in healthy ways. 

This week marks Family Literacy Week (Sunday, January 26 to Sunday, February 2). To support families, the CBE has put together several helpful resources. Be sure to check out the Family Literacy fact sheet (2025-Family-Literacy-Week-Visual-Version.pdf) for some fun and engaging activities to do at home. 

We are also excited to welcome Tania Khurram to the Ron Southern team! Tania is our new educational assistant in the regular program and is replacing Mr. Perry in his role. She will primarily be working with Division 2 students.
