Our school is a very diverse place, with students from many different cultural, linguistic, and neurodiverse backgrounds. Did you know that our school community speaks over 40 different languages at home? We also have over 150 students who were born outside of Canada, representing more than 45 different countries! With so much diversity, promoting inclusion is something we work hard on every day.

Some ways we encourage inclusion include our school clubs, like the Culture Club. The Culture Club gives students the chance to take leadership roles and raise awareness about our diversity. We also focus on Truth and Reconciliation and have an Indigenous Residency program to help everyone value each other's uniqueness. This work helps us understand how reciprocity—giving and receiving—brings us together. Even in our Social Emotional Learning lessons, students are learning how to communicate and work well with others.

On Wednesday, February 26, we will celebrate Pink Shirt Day. This day is all about spreading kindness and creating a sense of belonging for everyone! It is also a great opportunity to celebrate the progress we've made this year in promoting inclusion and teaching our students to appreciate and value our differences.

For our families that celebrate Ramadan, we wish you Ramadan Mubarak رمضان مبارك.
