Principal’s Message

Thank you to all our staff and parents for helping make the first day of school a success. It was a joy to visit classrooms and see the excitement as students met their new teachers and reconnected with friends.

Due to smoke levels, we had a “Blue Day,” which required students to remain indoors during recess. Our students adapted well, despite missing their much-loved outdoor time.

Throughout September, teachers will be getting to know their students and conducting various assessments to better understand each learner. This helps us tailor instruction to support every student’s individual needs.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher. We value your partnership and look forward to a great year ahead.

Parking at Ron Southern

Thank you to all our families that respected our parking rules and followed proper procedures. A reminder to our new families that parking along Silverado Way is drop off only.  You are not allowed to park there and will be asked to move immediately as it causes quite the traffic jam.  If you are planning to walk your child onto the school grounds you will need to find parking along the field on Silverado Blvd. or within the community. Please be respectful of people’s driveways.  There is no student drop off in our teacher parking lot.

School Supplies

All student supplies are provided by the school. There is a $40.00 instructional fee for grades 1 – 6 and $20.00 for kindergarten that can be paid in power school. Any fees will be added to your MYCBE student account by the end of October.  Students will need to bring an appropriately sized backpack, indoor running shoes, healthy snack and water bottle (if they choose) and their lunch (if participating in our lunch program).

Health and Safety

Please note: It is extremely important that students do not come to school in flip flops, fashion boots and shoes with heels (some of us like to be quite fancy for school!).  In elementary this footwear is not safe for playground play. In addition, students who do not have proper running shoes cannot participate in gym class due to safety reasons.
