Welcome to Ron Southern School
On behalf of the staff at Ron Southern, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all students and their families as we begin the 2026–2027 school year. Our staff is incredibly excited to welcome back returning students and to greet those who are new to our school community.
We are looking forward to another wonderful year of learning, growth, and connection. We also encourage parents and guardians to get involved in our school through opportunities such as the School Council or other volunteer roles. More information from our School Council will be shared in the coming days.
On Friday, August 28, you will receive an email from your child's teacher welcoming them to their classroom. Please know that a great deal of care and thought goes into the creation of class lists, and for that reason, we are not able to accept parent requests for class changes.

Parking at Ron Southern
We know the first day is so exciting for everyone but it is essential that we follow the proper parking procedures. Parking along Silverado Way is drop off only. You are not allowed to park there and will be asked to move immediately as it causes quite the traffic jam. Please do not drop off or pick up your students in our staff parking lot. If you are planning to walk your child onto the school grounds you will need to find parking along the field on Silverado Blvd. or within the community. Please be respectful of people’s driveways.
First Day Procedures
EES will be picked up from the bus by their teachers at 7:45am. If you are driving your child (EES only) to school please come to the front office and we will get one of our staff to take your child down to class. For the regular program, all teachers will be outside for the start of school. There will be signs with teacher’s names posted at the designated entries. If you are new and not sure where to go there will be plenty of staff to help you. If your child is not on a class list please go to the office and our administrative team will assist you. For the first day only, we will have students line up in their designated classrooms to enter the school. Starting on Tuesday, September 1 we will begin the relaxed entry which starts at 7:53am. The designated entrances are as follows:
- Grades 5/6 will enter through the northwest doors along Silverado Way. On the first day, Grade 5/6 teachers will meet students along the north wall of the school
- Grade 3 and Grade 4 will enter through the northeast doors (where the staircase is) which is located along Silverado Way. On the first day, Grade 3 teachers will meet students on the east side of the school along the wall. Grade 4 will meet the teacher behind the portables located by the school compound area.
- K, Grade 1, and Grade 2 will enter through the southeast doors which are near the playground. On the first day, students will line up along the south wall to meet their teacher.
