Welcome to Ron Southern School

On behalf of the Ron Southern staff, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all students and their families as we prepare for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. We are thrilled to welcome back our returning students and excited to greet those who are new to Ron Southern. We anticipate another fantastic school year ahead.

We also encourage parents and guardians to engage with our school community by joining the School Council or participating in other volunteer opportunities. Look for more information from our School Council in the coming days. Below, you'll find important details regarding the start of the school year.

Parking at Ron Southern

We know the first day is so exciting for everyone but it is essential that we follow the proper parking procedures.  Parking along Silverado Way is drop off only.  You are not allowed to park there and will be asked to move immediately as it causes quite the traffic jam.  If you are planning to walk your child onto the school grounds you will need to find parking along the field on Silverado Blvd. or within the community. Please be respectful of people’s driveways.

First Day Procedures

On Wednesday, August 28 at approximately 11:00am you will receive an email from your child(ren) teacher(s) welcoming them to school and their classroom.

On Thursday, August 29, EES will be picked up from the bus by their teachers at 7:45am.  If you are driving your child (EES only) to school please come to the front office and we will get one of our staff to take your child down to class.  For the regular program, all teachers will be outside tomorrow morning for the start of school.  There will be signs with teacher’s names posted at the designated entries.  If you are new and not sure where to go there will be plenty of staff to help you. If your child is not on a class list please go to the office and our administrative team will assist you.  For the first day only, we will have students line up in their designated classrooms to enter the school.  Starting on Friday we will have a relaxed entry that starts at 7:50am. The designated entrances are as follows:

K, Grade 1, and 2 will enter through the southeast doors which are near the playground. Students will line up along the south wall.

Grade 4  will enter through the northeast doors (where the staircase is) which are located along Silverado Way.   Teachers will meet student on the east side of the school behind the portables located by the school compound area.

Grades 3, 5 and 6 enter through the northwest doors along Silverado Way.  Teachers will meet students along the north wall of the school.

School Supplies

All student supplies are provide by the school. There is a $40.00 for grades 1 – 6 and $20.00 for kindergarten instructional fee that can be paid in power school. Students will need to bring an appropriately sized backpack, indoor running shoes, healthy snack and water bottle ( if they choose) and their lunch (if participating in our lunch program).

Health and Safety

Please note: It is extremely important that students do not come to school in flip flops, fashion boots and shoes with heels (some of us like to be quite fancy for school!).  In elementary this footwear is not safe for playground play. In addition, students who do not have proper running shoes cannot participate in gym class due to safety reasons.
